Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran is an American businesswoman from America. She co-founded The Corcoran Group, a real estate brokerage in New York City, which she sold to NRT for $66 million in 2001 and shortly thereafter , the company was sold. Corcoran is one of ABC's original Shark investors has been part of each episode of Shark Tank. She has participated in 53 deals as of February 2020. The biggest was a $350,000 investment to provide 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second child in a family of 10 children, and was raised in Edgewater. [8] Her mother, Florence, was a household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father through Corcoran’s childhood. In times, her family relied on deliveries of free food from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her fatheras a man who sometimes drank too much, and treated her mother disrespectfully and condescendingly, particularly after he'd had some drinks. Corcoran struggled at school and later learned that she was dyslexic. Corcoran started high school at St. Cecilia High School Englewood after having attended a Catholic elementary school. After failing several classes during her freshman year, Corcoran transferred to Leonia High School and received a grade of D.
